hanging on

i am a terrible blogger. i’ve been down and out lately and that makes blogging regularly very hard. i’m into my second week of abx treatment (2 weeks on 2 off-cycle) and i’m feeling like total junk. we have tried to lower the dosing so that i don’t overload and end up in the ER. i’ve had a hard time getting out of the house for bi-weekly blood draws and we may need to have a nurse come out. i would like to actually use my picc line to draw blood-imagine that. over the last year i’ve had to go to a lab and be stuck with a needle instead of drawing from my line. i’m a bit sick of it, after years of testing and poking, i think i’ve had my fill of needles and am becoming a bit phobic. which sounds nuts, even to me. go back to see the wizard march 13th, the Under Our Skin preview showing (in anticipation of the wide release in July) in Charlotte is march 20th. we’re interested to see where i will be with this upcoming appointment. will i be able to get off iv abx and move on to orals, will we need to do another round, how long can i fight to keep my picc line in while on orals (we’ve found that doing fluids daily is the only thing that keeps my body from going into freak out mode while on abx) a lot of big questions. mostly i’m concenred because i’m not feeling great, or even better-not yet atleast. the only way i function is because we finally have a drug cocktail to control my seizures and sometimes my appetite/nausea/vomiting.

in good news, our winterguard kids got promoted this weekend to a higher class. we’ll see where this takes them the rest of the season. i hope everybody is well, i’m trying to keep up with updating my you tube videos, so if i go missing-check there first.

  1. Which guard do you instruct? Are you also in North Carolina?

    • I teach C. E. Jordan. I live in NC as well. We were at WGI Regionals and Clayton this past weekend.

  2. I bet I saw them. I just don’t remember right off. All I have in my notes about your group is “purple floor” and I didn’t take pictures of them b/c my batteries were running out and I needed to have them for Assembly Line!

I did pay attention to that class though b/c my alumni guard was performing. I just am having a Lyme Brain (that or OLD brain) at the moment. I was at both the WGI show & the Clayton show. In the WGI show, I spent most of the time at the Assembly Line table talking to Greta and Gena. However, I sat in the lower section first and then later on (in the prelims) at the upper level.

At the Clayton show, I sat in the middle near the judges until I saw a friend when I moved up on the top row right next to where people can stand to take videos. Then after the guard was over, I hung out with Greta & Gena again until the crowd thinned out so I could go home. I won’t be able to go to any more shows this season, but congratulations on getting bumped up! That’s an awesome achievement!
